The Gospel Proclaimed by the Prophets Text: Isaiah 55 Readings: Heidelberg Catechism Q/A 19; Revelation 3: 14-22 We continue our series on the ways in which God proclaimed the gospel (Heidelberg Catechism, Question and Answer 19). This afternoon we look at how 'God himself ... proclaimed is by the ... prophets', considering what Isaiah 55 has to say about this. My theme is: God freely calls all who hear to come to him and live because of his covenant with David. We see this under two headings: the gospel is offered freely; the gospel's effect is everlasting.
