We who have heard and believed the Good News of Jesus have been called to walk in a manner worthy of that calling in every area of our lives. One area of our lives is in the family. We have looked at how the gospel transforms our lives in the area of marriage. So too, the gospel forms our understanding of the relationship between parents and children. The family is the foundation of all of society. Children of believing parents are part of God's covenant. They belong to Jesus and are to brought up by the parents in the training and instruction of the Lord. Children are under the obligation of honoring their parents by being obedient. Parents are to teach their children the things of the Lord, model the things they are teaching in their own lives and live them out with their children, leaving the outcome to the Lord.
