In the book of Isaiah God is confronting the superpowers of the day. In this section the prophet addresses Egypt. Like Egypt the world in our day seeks to gain as much power as it can in order to further its own well being with caring for the well being of others. The world seeks through its own wisdom and self-reliance, apart from God, to solve all of its problems, but only ends up making things worse. God has promised not only to judge the world, but also to heal. We see that in response to the world God Outplays, Outwits, & Overflows.
