Ancient Israel is an example to us not to look to the world to solve our problems. One kingdom is no better than another. Looking to Egypt for help was hopeless as Egypt would be overcome by Assyria. Israel thought to look to Babylon to help her overcome Assyria because she too would be overcome by the Medes and Persia. God calls us to put our trust in Him, not the kingdoms of this world.
