Spurgeon Spoke of Psalm 23 as "The Pearl of the Psalms". Many people in the culture around us are familiar with this Psalm. For Christians this Psalm shows to us that we can say of God in every season of our lives, "You Are With Us." In the Psalms David calls God many things. He calls Him his Rock, his Refuge, he calls Him his King. Here in Psalm 23 he used a title that is more intimate. He calls him his Shepherd. In John 10 Jesus tells us that He is "The Good Shepherd."
