James 4:13–17, Heidelberg Catechism: Lord's Day 9
Drawing from the rich imagery of Christ as our great High Priest, we see that Christians have bold access to God through Jesus' sacrifice. This privilege comes with a calling: to hold fast to our confession, to encourage one another, and to remain steadfast in faith. Modern attitudes of individualism and spiritual convenience are challenged, and believers are urged not to neglect meeting together. Gathering in worship is presented not as optional, but as essential - providing mutual encouragement, spiritual accountability, and the means to persevere in hope. As the Day of the Lord draws near, the assembly of the saints becomes all the more urgent and necessary for the faithful Christian life.
