On Mount Carmel, Elijah confronts the prophets of Baal and calls the people to see who alone is the true and living God. This dramatic encounter reminds us that our confidence in prayer rests not in lifeless idols or our own strength, but in the Lord who hears His people and answers according to His power and will.
